LEAD WITH A HEART
Have you ever tried to become part of a group? Have you ever experience to lead them? If you already did this, do you think you did it well? Do you think you become an effective leader?
Some of us are having some misconception about leadership. Most of the people thinks that a true leader is the one who feared by his employees. Leadership isn’t just about telling those people that you’re managing what should they do. It isn’t always about letting your people to serve you. Not because you’re a leader it means that you can just command your people to do a ton of works. It doesn’t mean that your people will work for you.
Before you become an effective leader, you should first become a servant. You should serve for them. You should listen to all of their concerns. You should always put yourself in their position. Maybe you will think “Why should I do that? I’m the leader!”. But a true leader lead his people in the right path. A leader should not trap his people in sufferings.
A servant leader shows empathy to his workers. Instead of showing them that he's the superior, he should let them feel that they are all equal and as a leader, he's always willing to lift his people up. He serves as a ladder to their goals. He shouldn’t think always about himself but he should care more about his people.
The true essence of leadership is guiding your people for them to grow and enhance their skills. A true leader means you shouldn’t focus on your own achievement. You should focus on your team’s goal. A leader doesn’t complain. He teaches other people. A leader who's always looking at his workers mistakes and doesn’t give attention to those achievements that they accomplish, he wouldn’t be successful in life.
In the end, those people who experience many difficulties but can still manage to reach out people who need help are the people who’s most likely to become successful. Always remember that success is a fruit of persevere and good heart.
